Welcome to this week’s ‘post’, I’m very excited to finally share with you about my mystery vacation. For at least the next three weeks I will be covering my trip to the beautiful Matsu Islands! These islands are absolutely stunning and located less than 10 miles from Mainland China (you can even catch a glimpse on a clear day). They are filled with unique cuisine, old Qing dynasty temples, and military sites both abandoned and active, reminding you that there is still conflict here.
Since this week is particularly packed with graduate school responsibilities, instead of a normal post I want to instead take the opportunity to share some photos with you from my trip in anticipation of beginning full posts next week. Please enjoy!
I hope you enjoyed this sample of what’s to come over the next few weeks. As thanks for reading this far, I’m going to give you a sneak peek at my next post: it will include a video about my experience taking the New Taima Ferry to the islands overnight (~10 hours on the ocean), something you will absolutely not want to miss!
